From Swahili fichua — to reveal, to bring to light.
Digital product studio
We build software that turns the complex into something visible, usable, and understandable. Right now: digital identity — real implementations, real interoperability results, shared openly.
What we do
In Swahili, ficha means to hide. Fichua is its opposite: to uncover what is hidden. That is the operation that defines fikua.
There is technology that lives in dense specifications, opaque documents, and processes nobody fully understands. Our job is to turn that complexity into product — code that runs, interfaces that make sense, tools that get used.
Principles
Problem before solution
We start from documented, real problems — not from trendy technologies.
Specification as truth
When we build against a standard, the standard rules. When we build against a market, evidence rules.
Product, not service
We build our own software. We do not sell hours — we sell outcomes.
Areas of work
Digital identity laboratory
Non-commercial by design. For now.An open laboratory where we implement the OpenID Foundation protocols for digital identity — OID4VCI, OID4VP, SD-JWT VC — aligned with eIDAS 2.0 and EUDI ARF 2.8, and validate them against the official OIDF conformance suite.
This is where Fikua proves what it can build: real, passing interoperability results, shared openly. It is non-commercial today by deliberate choice — the lab reads the specs, runs the code, and publishes the evidence.
fikua's Issuer implementations passed the OpenID Foundation's OID4VCI Interop #2 and #3, and were cited in the Foundation's 2025 interoperability article.
Upcoming
